Find answers about getting started, configuring Skord and resolving issues in your server.
Get started
What permissions does the bot need?
Point permissions: send and manage messages, channels and roles, kick, ban, timeout, voice and move members. Administrator is not required. Each /mod also checks the permission of whoever runs it.
Dashboard or commands?
Both. Auto-mod, levels, welcome, logs and messages are edited in the dashboard. Slash commands are day to day: moderate, giveaways, economy.
Slash doesn't show up in Discord.
Invite again with the site link and wait a minute: Discord is slow to sync. If Skord isn't online in the server, / won't list anything.
Where is the command list?
In the command manual: every slash with parameters and an example. In Discord, type / and browse Skord's groups.
How do I get help?
Join the Discord server or write to [email protected].
Is Skord down?
Check status: the bot and the dashboard. If it says it's up and slash still missing, it's the server (invite again or permissions), not a Skord outage.
Moderation
How do warns, kicks, bans and timeouts work?
/mod member warn, /mod member kick, /mod member ban and /mod member timeout. Each action opens a numbered case in the log channel (dashboard → Logs).
What is Audit?
The server activity log: channels, roles, messages, voice, nicknames, boosts, kicks and bans. Same Logs channel. In the dashboard you toggle each category.
Can I mute channels, roles or users in the logs?
Yes. In Logs → Ignore you exclude noisy channels, a whole role (other bots) or specific users.
Moderation or auto-mod?
Moderation is by hand: a mod runs the slash. Auto-mod is rules Skord applies when it sees spam, links or images that don't belong.
Auto-mod
What does it filter?
Blocked links, images by channel or role, mass mentions (@everyone, @here or many in a row), repeated spam and banned words. Each hit adds a strike; after several, automatic warn or timeout (Auto-mod → Escalation).
Voice channels
How do temp rooms work?
In the dashboard you pick a hub. On join, Skord creates your room and moves you. /voice create is a fallback if that failed. Inside you configure with /voice or the buttons; the room deletes when empty.
Community
How do levels work?
XP per message, with a cooldown so it isn't farmed. Reward roles per level and role multipliers are set in the dashboard.
What's in the economy?
Per-user balance, daily and work, with amounts set in the dashboard. Day to day is /economy.
Autoroles and starboard?
In Community: autoroles on join, and a starboard for messages that pass a ⭐ count in a dedicated channel.
Messages and tickets
How do I make an embed with buttons?
In Messages: visual editor with preview. You can also import JSON exported from Discord; Skord converts it.
How do tickets work?
A panel with a button. The member opens a private channel, visible to them and the staff role you set.
Discord only
Giveaways and polls?
/giveaway start or Dashboard → Giveaways publishes a giveaway with a button. Hit Join again to leave. /giveaway end closes and picks winners. /giveaway cancel closes with no winners and posts in the channel. Delete announces and removes the message. /poll create makes a poll.
What's in fun?
8ball, dice, rock-paper-scissors, pick from options and interactions (hug, pat, handshake) with a GIF.
Music
Does it play music?
Search for songs, control the queue and save playlists from Discord and the dashboard.
How do I import a Spotify playlist?
In Music → Playlists → Import from Spotify, connect your account and choose a playlist. Review the YouTube matches before saving it in Skord. Spotify provides names and artwork; audio plays from YouTube.
Data
What about data?
We store server config, cases, audit and level or economy progress. We don't read DMs or sell data. Ask for deletion at [email protected]. Detail in the privacy policy.
